The
Bunny costume has been packed up, and after the seven nights of
Halloween 2006, I hope not to see that fluffy tail again for at
least another decade (no offence Hef--you rocked my year!).
Holiday-wise we can now look forward to Light's annual Thanksgiving
night party, a bevy of charitable events benefiting the Make-A Wish
Foundation and Toys For Tots, and a heaping handful of nightclub
openings including Pure Management Group's LAX and the Roxy, Triq at
the Aladdin, Revolution at the Mirage, and more. And then there's
the mother of them all--New Year's Eve. They say how you begin the
New Year sets the pace for the rest of the year so make it a good
night, a great midnight, and ladies, may you each kiss a prince and
not a frog!
Looking back
to where Halloweek started, I kicked the holiday off on Wednesday,
October 25th at Body English
as a judge for the Hard Rock's employee costume contest. Along with
Wicked PR's Martin Stein and Jack Colton of JackColton.com, I
watched the parade of pirates, naughty this, naughty that, and also
a few very original costumes. In the end, 1st place went to a
homemade, beheaded Marie Antoinette and her executioner, 2nd place
to a spot-on Dog the Bounty Hunter and wife, and 3rd to a cute Chick
Magnet (guy with duckies glued to his body). We also gave special
mention to the low-maintenence costumed group who called themselves
"Four Ho's and their Baby Daddy." You can picture it, can't you?
Following on the heels of waaaaay too much candy and fair amount of
used up drink tickets, we moved the party to
Tabu where the entire nightlife community it seemed
showed up to hear Carl Cox spin. The revered DJ went on at 1:30 a.m.
and did not stop till after 4 a.m. Neither did I! "Sheepish" is how
I would describe my face, returning the next night to retrieve the
credit card I left behind when I stumbled out of the bar. I don't
get like "that" too often and recalling my headache Thursday morning
I remembered why.
Thursday night
I helped host the Jewish Federation's October Happy Hour at
Social House. Though we
were supposed to keep the party to 50 we snuck in a few more and
watched as the drinks, conversation, and the sushi flowed. The next
event will be held Monday, November 27th at the Hard Rock's
Simon restaurant from 6
to 8 p.m. Dressed as a Geisha, Saturday night started out for
Wingwoman Krystle and I with drinks and apps in the MGM's oppulent
Sky Lofts for
the Killers' afterparty preparty. Problem was, a bus fire on the 15
kept the talent and the record execs from making in to their own
soiree, so we pretty much had the joint to ourselves. More olives
for me! Next stop was the Stardust (shudder) for my first
Fetish 'n Fantasy Ball.
Over 4,800 guys and ghouls showed up in some very elaborate and some
very skimpy costumes to dance, cruise for threesomes, and peruse the
booths hawking adult toys, bondage paraphernalia, and corsets. I was
then nearly blinded by some runaway faux cobwebbing and eventually
hobbled by my stripper shoes. The last stop of the night--after
changing shoes--was of course
ICE where devoted fans and former employees like
Steve Klimaski and Kalika Moquin literally pitched a tent in the VIP
section for the club's final night. Seriously. With sleeping bags
and all. And a keg! The party raged long past my bed time at 7:30
a.m. and into the afternoon when the last drops of warm beer were
drained. The ICE may have melted but the memories never will.
Sunday night
Bunny Xania emerged first at Macarran Airport to pick up a friend
before meeting up with my Hef-ette (aka NapkinNights.com's Tracy
Lee) and friends to hit the
Playboy Club and
Moon. Feminine wiles would have to be
employed to get through the doors but in the end, this Bunny was in
Hef-heaven.

Here's the
rub: by the time I got to Tuesday, October 31st, my costume reeked
of smoke, sweat (not mine--ew), and general clubbiness. "I'm soooooo
over Halloween," I whined to anyone who would listen. I know I
wasn't the only one. Still, All Hallow's Eve was busting out all
over Vegas therefore I donned the ears once again and hit the trio
of Studio 54's
annual Beaux Arts Ball (many are saying this is also to be 54's last
Halloween...hmmm), then Tryst's
sexy pirate-themed event where I met one of the 26 ladies who had
just won Best Group in Jet's costume contest as the "Deal Or No
Deal" gals, before finally ending up at
Jet in the House Room
taking in the sounds of Faarsheed with Seattle's DJ Scene. The next
night I was back at Studio 54
for Play Wednesdays where the ladies of Fantasy conjured up a whole
lot of sexy on the stage then handed out calendars. A free show and
free stuff!
I wish I could
say the rest of the weekend measured up to the week prior but it did
not. My great escape from Vegas to
Los Angeles Thursday
night was quickly squashed early Friday morning when I slipped a
disc in my neck and found myself in a world of pain and later, a
fugly foam neck brace. And let's just say things went steadily
downhill from there. Sure enough, it was the Ladies of The Night who
came to my rescue! Much thanks to 944's Abby Tegnelia for supplying
food, and Tracy Lee, Jessica Berlin, Biana Stein, and Jade Bailey
for coming through with the gossip, the shoulders for me to bitch
on, and the much needed Girl Power. Hey, not every night can be New
Year's Eve but gimme a day and I'll be righter than a rare Vegas
rain. Like Beyonce says, "You must not know 'bout me!"
