Pietra Sardelli

Pietra is a true native of Las Vegas. She attended UNLV and paid for college by working in shows at the MGM, Excalibur and Caesars. Author of, "Lies I have told in My Bio", she brings her unique writing style to our site. Writing about the single scene is important to her because it fits in with her personal motto:

"If you can’t be a shining example, then be a horrible warning"

An Ode to Single
By Pietra Domenica, poetess

An Ode I write to being single
Condemned for life to mix and mingle
To be dragged by your friend and her current honey
To meet weird guys, "But they're so funny"
Try to survive in the single scene
You'll know in moments what I mean
Too short, too crass, thinks he's the bomb
Rich and shallow, lives with his mom
Can't commit, he needs to roam
Oops he left his wallet home
I have nice eyes?  You big fat liar
(Oh my eyes are nice, but they're much higher)
We've talked an hour so when's the sex?
Just had to meet you, you're like my ex
Believe me, I wish this wasn't so
But dating has a ways to go
I'm sure men feel the same frustrations
(Course none of them were at Crustaceans)
I still think for girls it's worse
Mace and condoms in our purse
The single life can get real scary
I've met no one I'd ever marry
So for now I'll live on pure Girl power
(That and the massager in my shower.)
