An Ode I
write to being single
Condemned
for life to mix and mingle
To be
dragged by your friend and her current honey
To meet
weird guys, "But they're so funny"
Try to
survive in the single scene
You'll
know in moments what I mean
Too
short, too crass, thinks he's the bomb
Rich and
shallow, lives with his mom
Can't
commit, he needs to roam
Oops he
left his wallet home
I have
nice eyes? You big fat liar
(Oh my
eyes are nice, but they're much higher)
We've
talked an hour so when's the sex?
Just had
to meet you, you're like my ex
Believe
me, I wish this wasn't so
But
dating has a ways to go
I'm sure
men feel the same frustrations
(Course
none of them were at Crustaceans)
I still
think for girls it's worse
Mace and
condoms in our purse
The
single life can get real scary
I've met
no one I'd ever marry
So for
now I'll live on pure Girl power
(That and
the massager in my shower.)
