Willis has more than 30 years of on-camera and media management
experience. From 1972 to 1978, he was employed at commercial
television station KVBC-TV, where he advanced through the ranks as
a show host, anchorman, reporter, assignment editor and news
director. In 1978, when Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn was Clark
County School Superintendent, Guinn tapped Willis as
Communications Director and spokesman for the Clark County School
District.
Except for a three-year stint as general manager of Las Vegas
public radio station KCEP-FM, Willis remained with the school
district through mid-1999. One year prior to joining the staff of
Channel 10, Willis served as a district administrator in the
Yonkers, New York Public Schools.
Commenting about the show, Willis said: “I was grateful for the
opportunity to create and produce Inside Education as a reliable
source for information about the nation’s sixth largest and
fastest growing school district. A community as vigorous as ours
enables us to responsibly inform the viewing audience while
keeping the program’s content interesting and dynamic.” |
