Kelly Clinton

Membership Has Its Benefits

It seems the place to be on a Saturday Night is the elegant Stirling Club at Turnberry Towers. The Stirling Club’s lounge/night club is for its members and their guests. It is just the right setting to relax and unwind with it’s overstuffed sofas and chairs to enjoy cocktails and some mellow music. However, on Saturday nights there is an added perk, Kelly Clinton performs with her band including some surprise visitors through out the evening. Her band consists of; on piano - Scott Rammer, bass and vocals – Ron George, on drums – Al Guzman, Tom Steele on sax and keyboards and Paul Stubblefield veteran lead singer who starts the evening off at  8:30 p.m. with some old standards in his smooth unique style. Kelly comes on about 10:00 p.m., and then things really start to cook. Kelly is tops in her own right, but the outside talent that joins Kelly through out the evening are alone worth the price of admission (which is the price of a drink).

On this recent Saturday night, included in the many talented people that performed, was a family night with the Holmes, along with Clint, who’s finishing up a long run at Harrah’s, his 90 year young mom Audrey, patriarch of the Holmes family, who still has that beautiful classic voice. Audrey was accompanied by Bill Fayne, Clint’s musical director. Next to perform was Gayle Holmes, Clint’s sister, with a strong R & B style. Kelly then sang a rock’n version of ‘Respect’ with others joining in, among those being the lead singer from the show ‘Menopause’, Skye Dee Miller.

By 11:00 p.m., there was a large crowd enjoying the entertainment.  A lot of entertainers from other shows kept dropping by, I was later told, that after I left Toni Braxton showed up as well.

The Kelly Clinton Show on Saturday Nights at the Stirling Club is great fun and good times... and you never know who just might pop in for a added bonus.
