"Interesting Trivia... about ancient times"

During the first seven years of the WSOP there were 41 tournaments total. This year alone there will be 45 events.

During the decade of the 70's over 75% of the tournament winners were from Vegas (many of them transplanted Texans).

For the first five years of the WSOP the "side games" were $1 -$3 Stud, $2 & $4 or $1 - $5 Hold-em, $1 & $2 Blind No-Limit Hold-em and a small limit low-ball draw game, all now gone by way of the preverbal dinosaur. Of course now, all the side game interest is from $4 & $8 limit to the "moon".

Before Doyle Brunson's consecutively victories Amarillo Slim got the most "ink" during this first decade. He had the looks and personality of what most of Americana thought a "poker player" should look and act like.

Side note: Every event so far this year has had more entries than the same event in 2005.
