Meeting Planners Kick Off
Convention By Reading
To Local Children
Attendees of the National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners (NCBMP) convention
will be spending their first day in
Las Vegas reading to Booker Elementary students as part
of the "Read to Succeed" program. The students will be second through fourth
graders. The students will be bused to The Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino. They
will participate in two reading sessions and will receive at least one book to
take home, as well as a Polaroid photo with a showgirl. There will be more than
20 volunteers reading to 100 students. Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 1 - 3 p.m. the
event is being held at The Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino's Belize Room
Every
year, NCBMP dedicates part of its event program to community outreach. The
"Read to Succeed" program is designed to stimulate the love of reading amongst
elementary students.

National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners was founded in 1983, NCBMP is a
non-profit organization dedicated primarily to the training needs of
African-American meeting planners. Members of NCBMP include meeting planners
from numerous businesses, civil rights, church and fraternal organizations.
