So ya think you can dance? Wait, before
answering, do yourself a favor and see "Burn The Floor," an
exhilarating new show at the Luxor. Billing itself as "Ballroom
Dancing for the New Millennium" this delightful display of as yet
unheard of dancing talent was quite a treat.
The show
itself features nine indefatigable couples dancing virtually
nonstop. The cast is truly an international one with many of the
comely lasses and hunky guys hailing from Australia and Scandinavia.
They perform very upbeat versions of all the favorites, from the Foxtrot to the
Quickstep, and all the Latin styles. The ensemble is
accompanied by an energetic band and a pair of singers (also hot)
that add greatly to the entertainment value of what I consider to be
one of the great "bargains" on the Strip.
In short,
whether you faithfully watch all the new dance shows on television, dance yourselves whenever given the opportunity,
or whether you
have two left feet, prefer the couch to the dance floor but are
still able to appreciate great talent and effort (similar to this
reviewer) it's a must see. Here's an inside tip, get an aisle seat
for up close and personal fun with the cast. Burn rubber and get to
Burn the Floor. |
