2
was strong and artificial. 2
was a waiting bid for opener to clarify what type of strong hand he
held. 2 No Trump showed 22-24 balanced. 3
was a transfer bid showing five or more
,
and 4
was a 2nd
suit and a slam try. With all 4 aces and a fit in both responders
suits, opener went straight to 6

Small
was
led...
Declarer won
the
lead with the J (an error, should have won the ace keeping better
communication with the weaker hand, but not fatal) After playing the
A and K of trump with right hand opponent showing out on 2nd round,
declarer cashed the A of
and led a 3rd
left hand opponent won and led a D picking up the Q, but declarer
still had to lose a club to the King. Can you see how the hand could
be made after the A and K of trump were played? NO Peeking! OK here
are all four hands.
Declarer must
also eliminate the Diamonds by leading the J and finessing then
cashing the Ace King before throwing left hand opponent in with the
trump Q! Then left hand opponent will have to lead a black suit, if
a club, declarer has no more losers and if a spade declarer will
pitch dummy's small club and ruff in hand!! If you made it you would
win the match, go down and, oh well maybe next time. :-}
