* Las Vegas Harley-Davidson is set to host its Third Annual Ride for Nellis Airmen on September 9 starting at 11a with live entertainment by local band Southern Stue, the parade of the newly released 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycles, a ride to and on Nellis Air Force Base and a post concert with special guests The Fabulous Thunderbirds. The cost is $25 per person and 100 percent of proceeds are donated to the charity. All motorcycle brands are welcome to participate. Harley rentals are available through the dealership.
* Street festival held in honor of Paris Hilton's CD release. The street festival is located off the Strip, south of the Imperial Palace. The festival will feature carnival games, food and drink vendors and entertainment. At 9:30p, Paris will receive a proclamation naming Aug. 29 "Paris Hilton Day." Following the festival, there will be a red carpet after-party at PURE Nightclub located inside Caesars Palace. The street festival will be followed at midnight by the public opening of Beacher's Rockhouse Bar. The Rockhouse is located at the Imperial Palace Casino and features more than 2,500 square feet of entertainmentfrom sexy dancers and a DJ to a mechanical bull and plasma TVs.
* 1.) The Hard Rock Casino presents Alice in Chains at the Joint inside the Hard Rock casino on Friday, September 22 at 8p. Developing a bleak, pessimistic sound that balanced grinding hard rock with subtly textured acoustic numbers, Alice in Chains was the definitive heavy metal band of the early 1990s. The band consists of vocalist Layne Staley, guitarist Jerry Cantrell, bassist Mike Starr and drummer Sean Kinney, Alice in Chains signed with Columbia Records in 1989.
2.) Lucha Va Voom- Sin City Spectacular at the Hard Rock Casino on September 2 and 3 has been cancelled. All tickets purchased can be refunded at original points of purchase.
3.) Twisted Sister has changed venues and will now perform inside The Joint on Saturday, September 2 at 8p.
4.) The Hard Rock Casino presents Guns 'n Roses at the Joint inside the Hard Rock Casino on Saturday and Sunday, September 16 & 17 at 8p. In the 1980s, Guns 'n Roses brought a raw and dirty sound back to rock �n roll in an industry dominated by pop-metal. The band consists of vocalist Axl Rose, guitarists Slash and Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Steven Adler, their music had a gritty sound with a solid bluesy base. Tickets for the show are $153.00+.
5.) The Hard Rock Casino presents Muse at the Joint inside the Hard Rock Casino on Thursday, September 21 at 8p. Tickets for the show are $28.00+.
6.) SUPERNOVA will perform Sunday, December 31 @ 10:30p. at The Joint, Hard Rock Casino. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, August 30, 10a and prices are $103.00+ General Admission & $253.00+ Reserved Balcony Seating.
* The Women's Club of Summerlin, a local nonprofit organization, is hosting its annual fundraising event at JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort in Summerlin. Slated for Saturday, November 4, 2006 the "Celebrating Children" luncheon begins at 11:30a in the Grand Ballroom. Beginning with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, a wonderful gastronomic affair follows, created by JW Marriott's Las Vegas Executive Chef as guests are entertained by Sharon Owens and Sebastian Anzaldo as "Barbra & Frank." In addition, Dillard's will host a fabulous fashion show with professional models. This year's Honorary Chairwoman, Paula Francis.
* 1.) The Pure Aloha Fall Festival at the Cannery Casino & Hotel will be held on October 6-8. The three-day festival will feature food and crafts from the Hawaiian and Pacific Islands, as well as entertainment for the entire family. The Pure Aloha Festival will kick off on Friday, October 6 at 6p. with an evening concert by Pati, O-shen, Koauka and Bonafide. Saturday evening, also starting at 6p, will feature traditional Hawaiian music by Makaha Sons along with multi-Hoku winner, Raiatea Helm. Comedian Augie T will host both evenings. Daytime festival hours begin at 9a Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8 with culture performances and Pacific Island vendors featuring a variety of island specialties. Admission to the daytime festival will be available at the door and is $5 for adults and $2 for children under 10, military and seniors 65+. Tickets for Friday evening's concert are $26 if purchased in advanced or $31 day of the event, and Saturday evening's are $21 if purchased in advance or $26 day of the event.
2.) The Cannery Casino & Hotel's new 288-seat Bingo Room is now open with eight sessions daily on even hours beginning at 8a. Complimentary beverage service is available at every session and fresh pastries are served daily at the 8a session. The Bingo Room is part of the $45 million expansion, which began in August of 2004.
* The 26th Annual Nevada Senior Olympics Opening Ceremony & Expo is one of the biggest events of the year for senior adults and all supporters. The 26th Annual Nevada Senior Games co-sponsored by the Clark County Senior Advocate Program. Keynote guest speaker will be U.S. Senator John Ensign. The event will take place at Cambridge Recreation Center at 3930 Cambridge Street on Saturday, August 26, beginning at 10a until 2p.
* For you brave at heart, come to the Tattoo Party on August 29 at the Tabu Ultra Lounge inside the MGM Grand Casino. Doors open at 10p with guest DJ, DJ Skee and live tattoo by Carlitos.
* World lightweight champion Diego Corrales and former world champion and top-rated contender Joel Casamayor, with a combined record of 73-6-1 (53 KOs) and a winning percentage exceeding 91 percent, will step into the ring for the third and final time to settle their fantastic trilogy. "Manifest Destiny!"Corrales vs. Casamayor IIInot only will determine the division's true world champion. Tickets are priced at $300, $200, $100 and $50 and go on sale August 25.
* September 23-24 starts the beginning of the 21st Season for the Nevada Opera Theatre which will feature "The Opera Festival" at MonteLago Village at 7:30p. The outdoor concerts will feature the Nevada Opera Theatre Artists, Orchestra and Chorus. Guest artists include Dinyar Vania, from the New York City Opera.
* Rock 'n roll giant Aerosmith returns to MGM Grand when they bring their popular hits and their "Route Of All Evil Tour" to the MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday, November 4 with the popular rock band Motley Crue. The performance, which many are calling the ultimate must-see rock event of 2006, is scheduled to begin at 8p. This marks the first time that rock's bad boys have embarked on a tour together featuring all of their original members. Tickets are priced at $185, $95 and $55, and fees. Tickets go on sale Saturday, August 26 at 10a at the MGM Grand Garden Arena box office. Wristband distribution will begin Saturday, August 26 at 6a and end at 9a. A random number will be drawn and a line-up will be in sequential order beginning with the random number selected.
* Junker Designs will be debuting their new collection on Monday, August 28 at 10p at the Rainbow Bar & Grill in a celebrity-studded event with a rock 'n roll fashion show no one should miss. Tod and Guiliana, the creators of Junker Designs, have overdyed, painted, mutated and bled on denim, leather and whatever for their garments to be worn by Lenny Kravitz, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, INXS, Avenged Sevenfold, Buckcherry, Godsmack, Paris Hilton, Insane Clown Posse, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline and Alice Cooper, and featured in Rolling Stone, The Face, Tongue, Metal Edge, Flaunt and Burn magazines. This year they have been featured on Rock Star: Supernova as Dave Navarro is a fan and will be seen in the upcoming Red Hot Chili Peppers video. The models wearing as little of the Junker garments as possible include Chasey Lain, Courtney Cruz and Stefani Morgan.
