*  Redneck Comedy Live! kicks off its run October 9 in a family-friendly, all-ages show that can't be found anywhere else on the Las Vegas Strip! Redneck Comedy Live!, a brand new show at the Sahara Casino, features four headlining comedic performers offering their 'Redneck Wisdom' and perspective into all things redneck. Mixing together their blend of All-American, down-home humor found in our everyday lives, Redneck Comedy Live! provides audiences a hilarious glimpse at life in middle America. Redneck Comedy Live! will perform nightly for an indefinite run at 9p, dark on Sunday, in the Sahara Theater. Ticket prices are $44.50 including tax.

*  (1.) Dixie Chicks, the largest-selling female group in music history, will bring their 2006 world tour, The Accidents & Accusations Tour, to the MGM Grand Garden Arena for a special Thanksgiving weekend performance Saturday, November 25 at 8p. Pete Yorn is scheduled to open the show. Tickets are priced at $89.50 and $49.50 and are on sale now.
(2.) Superfly Productions and A.C. Entertainment announced today the Vegoose at Night Concert Series 2006 will include a special acoustic performance by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Friday, Oct. 27. The concert is scheduled to begin at 8p. Tickets are priced at $58.50 and went on sale today, 9/25.

*  This week the Riviera Casino management and Owner/Producer Meshulam Riklis announce the closing of longtime Las Vegas extravaganza 'Splash' on Saturday evening, September 30. Since its debut at the Riviera on June 21, 1985, 'Splash' has been wowing audiences with an amazing union of the grand showgirl performance with intense rapid-fire variety acts. Gorgeous topless showgirls and dynamic dancers performing high-energy numbers with choreography ranging from jazz to classical dance have shared the stage with modern tribute artists, hilarious comedy jugglers, world-class ice skaters, international specialty acts and motorcycle daredevils. At the core of every Splash performance, since its inception, the entertainment blockbuster had highlighted dance numbers that paid homage to the music and moves of pop-icons as well as the movies and stage dramas of Hollywood and Broadway. The Riviera regrets this is happening and will miss the excellent show, the great performances and Mr. Riklis.

*  Terrible's Casino has completed their new 500 car parking garage and new hotel tower. The 500 car parking garage offers guests direct access to Terrible's casino. All rooms in the new tower feature amazing views of the pool and plush gardens. Decorated in wine and beige hues the rooms include 42" plasma televisions. Also, part of the new addition is luxurious Jacuzzi suites.

*  (1.) Cannery Casino Resorts, LLC announced on September 25 that Nevada Gaming Control has approved the acquisition by an entity managed by Oaktree Capital Management, LLC (Oaktree), a Los Angeles-based global private investment firm, of a 33% ownership interest in Cannery Casino Resorts. The approved transaction results in Millennium Gaming, Inc., a corporation equally owned by William J. Paulos and William C. Wortman, to own 67% of Cannery Casino Resorts, LLC while the Oaktree fund will own 33%. Cannery Casino Resorts, LLC owns and operates the Cannery Casino & Hotel and operates the Rampart Casino at the Resort at Summerlin. Both properties are local Las Vegas casinos. A subsidiary of Cannery Casino Resorts, LLC has engaged Banc of America Securities, LLC and Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated to raise up to $275 million in a new senior secured credit facility. The proceeds will be used to pursue a gaming opportunity in Pennsylvania.
(2.) Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone will play their hits at the Cannery Casino & Hotel on Saturday, November 18 at 8p. inside The Club. Tickets are $19.95 and are on sale now.

*  Fright Dome, the premier Halloween event in Las Vegas is holding Monster Auditions for his haunted attraction. Unique individuals eighteen years or older are encouraged to audition and arrive dressed to scare. Fright Dome will be filling 200 positions including strolling entertainers, scary haunted house actors and haunted house guides. Applicants must be eighteen years old and available during the nights of Fright Dome operation 6p to midnight, October 6-31, Thursday-Sunday. Halloween theme park and acting experience are a plus. Hiring takes place Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at 1p, at Circus Circus Casino, behind Adventuredome inside Ticketing Tent Fright Dome.

*  German native Andreas Krumkuhler makes his U.S. debut September 25 as legendary rocker Sting in 'Legends in Concert' at the Imperial Palace Casino. Krumkuhler replaces Prince in the current show, which also includes Bobby Darin, Garth Brooks, Britney Spears, the Temptations and Elvis Presley. 'Legends in Concert,' now in its 24th year. Shows are nightly at 7:30p and 10p except Sunday. Tickets are $49.95 and $59.95 with children 12 and under beginning at $34.95.

*  The acclaimed show Cavalia will be presented under its majestic White Big Top that will be located at the Rio Casino, starting November 16, 2006. Cavalia, a show unlike any other, is a lavish orchestration combining the equestrian and performing arts. The grand-scale extravaganza explores the relationship between humans and horses throughout history, while showcasing different disciplines. Acrobats, aerialists, dancers, musicians and riders share the stage with man's greatest conquest: the horse. Spectators are transported to dreamlike virtual settings, created by a unique combination of enchanting sets, multimedia projections, colorful lighting and dazzling special effects. Designed especially for Cavalia, the White Big Top houses a 160-foot-long 'playground' where the horses' agility, power, instinct and grace are showcased in all their beauty and, at times, in total liberty. Cavalia's White Big Top, the largest touring tent in North America, is 110 feet high, the equivalent of a 10-story high building and seats 2,000. More than 1.2 million spectators have already been charmed by the magic of Cavalia, with nearly 700 shows to its credit in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, San Diego, Phoenix, Boston, Washington, Houston, Dallas, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City. Tickets are on sale and priced from $30 to $95 with $15 to $75 for children 12 and under.

*  Did you ever want to know who the wealthiest Las Vegas persons really were? This week the famous Forbes list of top 400 wealthiest Americans was released and the results are astounding. Ranking the highest of all Vegas residents was Sheldon Adelson, rated #3. He has amassed a fortune valued at 20.5 billion and with the success of his Macau casino he is estimated to be generating 1 million dollars an hour income! Below is the top 5 on the Forbes list plus other notables. Also, an interesting side notes to this year's list, in order to make the top 400 list you had to be worth a minimum of 1 billion dollars.

*  This past week continues another tradition in Las Vegas, making movies. The crew of Ocean 13 was filming and partying throughout the city. George Clooney and several dozen members of the cast and crew were busy partying over the weekend at Pure Nightclub. Speaking of celebrities, Mike Tyson and Prince, both took advantage of the Las Vegas nightclub scene this past week. Tom Cruise made it to Vegas this week, not in nightclubs but for a special dinner party for his mother (see celebrated her 70th) at SW at the Wynn Casino and then took in a show, Cirque du Soleil's Beatles Love.
