Lillian McMorris is the former KVVU TV FOX5 Public Affairs Director and Producer/Host of A. M. Southern Nevada, the longest running Public Affairs Television Show in the State of Nevada. Additionally, she reported on Community Events for FOX5 News. For nine years she worked within the community as KVVU TV FOX5’s ambassador building the FOX5 franchise of being the station for ‘Community Service.’ Lillian is considered a “Social Architect,” bringing people, needs, solutions and information altogether as one.

She brings over a decade of solid one-on-one experience in personnel matters, employee relations, EEO/Labor Relations and customer relations. In the ’95 "Best of" poll, conducted annually by the Las Vegas Review Journal, Southern Nevada’s largest daily newspaper, Lillian McMorris was voted "Best Minority Spokesperson," "Parent of the Year" in 1995, by the Clark County School District, and was a finalist in the "Communications" category in the ’96 Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Community Achievement Awards. Other honors include being the 1998 recipient of the WE CAN (Working to Eliminate Child Abuse and Neglect) Public Awareness Award and an Honorary Degree from CCSN in Humane Letters for considerable efforts on behalf of higher education and the young people in the State of Nevada. She has been named by Mediators of Southern Nevada as “Mediator of the Year” and “Woman of the Year” by 100 Black Men of America—Las Vegas Chapter, as well as receiving the “Community Enrichment” Award from the Urban Chamber of Commerce.  McMorris was also the recipient of the Urban Chamber of Commerce Community enrichment award and the 2004 Nevada Minority Business Council Media Advocate of the year, individual. Lillian McMorris is an advocate for women, youth, people living with HIV/AIDS, and the disadvantaged. She always has been and continues to be a mentor and community advocate for many not-for-profit organizations.

McMorris is well known throughout Southern Nevada for her light contemporary style of speaking. She volunteers numerous hours of her personal time in the community, Emceeing and hosting programs, conducting and facilitating seminars and speaking on a wide range of topics. Lillian currently hosts a weekly radio business talk show for the Urban Chamber of Commerce and has combined efforts with Theresa Goss of GEA and Associates and Peggy Smith owner of Hands Ink Advertising to Host a new Business and Community Television Show, “Community Empowerment with Lillian McMorris.” Community Empowerment…is a new one-hour business & community TV talk show that gives its audience a glimpse into the “World” of local Chamber of Commerce organizations, non-profit agencies, prominent business leaders, women & minority business owners, entrepreneurs, community events and entertainment in the Vegas Valley. Guests will share real-world insight on their accomplishments; hardships and lessons learned from the front lines of one of the fastest growing cities in American history.

Over the years Lillian has served on numerous Boards of Directors including The Salvation Army, Southern Nevada AHEC (Area Health Education Center), the Nevada Broadcaster’s Association, NCCJ (National Conference for Community and Justice), the Nevada Public Health Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Association, the State Aids Task Force, as well as FIT (Foundation for an Independent Tomorrow). As an advocated for education Lillian has served as the President of the Community College of Southern Nevada President’s Advisory Board and the Chairperson of the CCSN Science Center Advisory Board. She is also the Chairperson for the Board of Directors for the Walker African-American Museum and Research Center, and is a member of the advisory boards of Goodwill Industries, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada, and Positively Kids, as well as an honorary member of the Las Vegas Art Museum Board of Directors. In the social sector, Lillian is an active member of The Social Register of Las Vegas. In previous years McMorris served on the advisory board of the Marketing Committee of the Greater Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and a member of the LVCC Community Council. In 2001 she was the Chairperson for the extremely successful Greater Las Vegas Chamber sponsored “Community Achievement Awards,” which took place shortly after the “9-11” tragedy.

Lillian continues to be involved with many community activities by being deeply and personally involved with numerous civic and cultural organizations on an ongoing basis. She spreads the ‘word’ throughout the community via an Internet marketing company, PURPLE RESOURCE, which advises the public regarding not for profit organizations, events, programs, fundraisers and activities.
