Vinnie Favorito has BIG Meatballs

I WISH I had the power to help really talented people get noticed. Vinnie Farorito IS one of those very talented people. In fact, Vinnie Farorito is the best stand-up comic I have seen in 10 years.

A lot of times real talent is overlooked, and for many of us, real talent is just not important. We spend our hard earned money on bad movies because of hype; eat crappy food because we like a themed restaurant, or buy overpriced clothes because they come with a label from an up-scale store.

We are bombarded daily by intense marketing for everything from music to prescription drugs. We are targets for major companies; everything is tested over and over, down to the lowest common denominator. It’s a numbers game, appealing to the masses; who needs quality if you have enough willing customers.

Vinnie Farorito does not appeal to the masses. Vinnie Farorito is a ‘quality original,’ and I was pleasantly surprised by the entire evening. Vinnie is appearing at O’Sheas on The Strip. It’s a funky little place between the Imperial Palace and The Flamingo, but it turned out to be real Old Vegas FUN. No hype, definitely NOT upscale, but an Irish theme. In the bar, they play a drinking game called ‘Beer Pong.’ You bounce ping-pong balls into cups full of beer, set up like bowling pins. Put a ball into a cup, the other team must drink the beer. A good way to get really drunk fast…I did tell you O’Sheas had an Irish theme.

Vinnie Farorito could be called the modern day Don Rickles, nasty, smart, quick, politically incorrect, and very, very funny. The problem is, unlike Rickles he has no big money, big marketing, or Frank Sinatra behind him. In fact, he held his media event in the food court; they roped off the area, set up some tables and served the food. This too was fun, good sausage, BIG meatballs and a great sauce.

Vinnie’s name is on the O’Sheas marquee, right above “Beer Pong Inside.” Now I know what it means when they say, “Behind the 8 Ball.” Even Vinnie said, “Wayne Brady is at the Venetian, George Wallace is at The Flamingo, what am I doing in this dump?”

Vinnie could use help from a Fairy Godmother, and all I have is an uncle I’m not sure about. I swear to you Vinnie, from this day forward, I am going to make it my life’s work to tell everyone I meet…“Vinnie Farorito is very, very funny, and he has big meatballs, you must go see him.”

So why the HELL are you still reading this crap?
