California Pizza Kitchen recently opened in Town Square, bringing the number
of CPK (as they like to be known) to three in Las Vegas (also in the Mirage
and Fashion Show Mall). Hard to believe, but former attorneys Rick
Rosenfield and Larry Flax began CPK on March 27, 1985 with the idea of
introducing flavors and tastes from around the world on a pizza. In 23
years, CPK has become a leader in authentic California-style cuisine with a
recognized consumer brand and an established, loyal customer base. There are
currently more than 210 CPKs in 29 states and seven foreign countries.
CPK is
a full service restaurant that offers not only hearth-baked pizzas but also
creativesalads, made-to-order pastas, soups, sandwiches, appetizers and
desserts, including favorites like Chicken and Shrimp Jambalaya, BBQ Chicken
Chopped Salad, Singapore Shrimp Rolls and Key Lime Pie. The atmosphere is
very family friendly, with a well-lit open décor, counter seating, booths,
and an environment of friendly servers, managers and desire to make the
casual dining experience memorable.
For
starters, there is the newest entry, Carbo Crab Cakes, made from blue crab,
pan-sautéed and served with roasted corn and black bean salsa and our
roasted pepper aioli. Another favorite is Avocado Club Egg Rolls, with
fresh avocado, chicken, tomato, Monterey Jack cheese and applewood smoked
bacon, wrapped in a crispy wonton roll, served with ranchito sauce and our
herb ranch dressing. Singapore Shrimp Eggs Rolls is a combination of
shrimp, baby broccoli, soy-glazed Shiitake mushrooms, Romaine, carrots,
noodles, bean sprouts, green onion and cilantro wrapped in rice paper and
served chilled with a sesame ginger dipping sauce and Szechuan slaw.
One of
the entrees offered include Blue Crab Cakes Made from blue crab, pan-sautéed
and served with our homemade remoulade sauce and accompanied with fresh
grilled asparagus and spaghettini in a creamy lemon-caper sauce.
As for
pizzas, the variety is incredible. The Original BBQ Chicken, their most
popular pizza, was first introduced in Beverly Hills in 1985. A topping of
barbecue sauce, smoked Gouda and Mozzarella cheeses, BBQ Chicken, sliced red
onions and cilantro, there is a reason this pizza has been around this long
and remains a favorite.
The
Cajun Pizza is blackened chicken and spicy Andouille sausage with a Creole
sauce, roasted red and yellow peppers, mild onions and Mozzarella cheese and
finally topped with green onions.
The
Mango Tandoori Chicken is grilled Tandoori chicken, mango, mild onions, red
peppers and Mozzarella cheese on a SPICY golden curry sauce and topped with
fresh cilantro and a sweet mango-chili sauce.
The
Jamaican Jerk Chicken combines grilled Jamaican Jerk spiced chicken breast
with a spicy sweet Caribbean sauce, Mozzarella cheese, applewood smoked
bacon, mild onions, roasted red & yellow peppers and green onions.
CPK is
also known for their rich decadent desserts. The sinful Red Velvet Cake
Three is layers of moist red velvet cake frosted with vanilla bean cream
cheese and white chocolate curls and served on vanilla bean sauce. Their
Carmel Fudge Pecan Cheesecake is a creamy New York style cheesecake layered
with rich chocolate fudge on a Graham cracker crust and topped with caramel
and pecans.
While
CPK is a “chain,” it is really so much more. CPK is also a fun casual
dining restaurant, great for a group of friends, family and just the chance
