First, let's explain that this is Planet Hollywood Restaurant in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, not Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.  Yes, before the resort, there was Planet Hollywood, the themed restaurant chain modeled after Hard Rock Café formula.

Planet Hollywood was launched in New York on October 22, 1991, with the backing of Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was a brainchild of Robert Earl, former president of Hard Rock Cafe. After losing a bitter lawsuit with Hard Rock Café, Earl then recruited many former Hard Rock veterans to open new Planet Hollywood stores, making it an established and world-renowned brand.

Planet Hollywood Restaurant in Las Vegas as well as internationally immerses its guests in the world of Hollywood glamour with a distinctive menu, collectible merchandise and artifacts from the largest movie and television memorabilia.

Flat screen televisions broadcast upcoming movies in a décor that is colorful, modern but still true to a movie or television set that could be a classic movie, sci-fi television show, Rocky film and plenty of sexy starlets, just to name a few.

The restaurant menu features a variety of food choices that is very much about taste, comfort and fun.  Starters include blackened shrimp which is marinated jumbo shrimp, blackened and served with Creole mustard sauce.  There are Texas tostados, crispy mini tortillas topped with barbeque chicken, sautéed onions, Monterey jack and sharp cheddar cheeses with sour cream and pico de gallo.  I have to mention the World-Famous Chicken Crunch which is tender strips of chicken breast with a crunchy sweet coating served with Creole mustard. The parmesan spinach dip, a creamy parmesan cheese dip with spinach and mushrooms served with crisp tortilla chips is good along with Buffalo tenders, Buffalo wings, potato skins and their sliders, mini-sized Angus sirloin burgers topped with cheddar cheese, Russian dressing and pickle.

Their Burgers, which are unbelievable, include mushroom, onion & Swiss burger, made with sautéed fresh mushrooms and onion layered on top of a classic Angus burger complete with Swiss cheese; BBQ bacon cheeseburger, a classic angus burger finished with hickory smoked bacon, tangy sweet barbeque sauce and sharp cheddar cheese; and a mushroom, onion & Swiss vegetarian burger with grilled Portobello mushroom topped with sautéed fresh mushrooms, spinach, onion, avocado and Swiss cheese.  Sandwiches include Philly steak & cheese sandwich, BBQ bacon cheddar chicken, Tuscan chicken sandwich and BBQ pulled pork.

Salads for those who want to eat healthy include a Cobb salad, chicken or shrimp Caesar, and the chicken wedge salad. Pizzas include a classic margherita and BBQ chicken pizza. Pastas like penne, chicken and broccoli, shrimp Alfredo and homemade manicotti are also offered.

For entrees, try grilled specialties USDA choice 12 oz. rib eye steak char grilled to order and served with french fries and fresh sautéed vegetable medley or New York strip steak that is USDA choice 12 oz. strip steak char grilled to order and served with baked potato and fresh sautéed vegetable medley.  For poultry, there is the roasted half chicken with Planet Hollywood's own seasonings and served with mashed potatoes and fresh sautéed vegetable medley or teriyaki salmon filet glazed with teriyaki sauce, served with white rice and fresh sautéed vegetable.

The bar features cocktails named after movies like "The Terminator," "Indecent Proposal," "Interview with A Vampire" and "The Blue Lagoon." The restaurant also features frozen alcoholic beverages, smoothies and hand-dipped milkshakes.

Planet Hollywood also features desserts such as the double chocolate brownie and the white chocolate bread pudding.  There is a party room with an outdoor balcony on the second floor, and a bar for meeting people for drinks and appetizers. Planet Hollywood Restaurant is casual, family-friendly and a great place to take out-of-town company.
